Did you know over 150 million still-good crayons are thrown awayeach year by restaurants in the United States? But crayons don’tdecompose and there are kids who have no crayons of their own!We can fix that by collecting, recycling, and donating our crayonsto others. Take the pledge to collect gently used crayons. Nexttime you receive crayons when you dine out don’t leave thembehind. Bring them to the Crayon Donation Box set up atCumberland County Library OR Hopeloft (40 E.Commerce St.) and drop them in! Once the box is full, we candonate the upcycled crayons to a school who really needs them.On May 21st, at Appel Farm’s South Jersey Arts Fest, we’ll bemelting down your used crayons to create new ones! You can tell your friends about this too. There’s no reason whycrayons should end up in landfill! We can work together to donatethese crayons and find a good home for them. Every kid shouldhave a crayon, and we have plenty to share. So let’s spread colorand kindness to kids everywhere! So spread the word. For more information, visit CrayonCollection.org.
