September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when Cumberland County Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind everyone about the valuable resources available with a library card. From borrowing books, eBooks, and audiobooks to getting homework help, learning new skills, or attending a book club or story time, a library card helps everyone do more of what they enjoy. Young Cumberland County Readers Work “All Together Now!” This Summer!
This summer, the Cumberland County Library challenged young readers to participate in its “All Together Now!” Summer Reading Program – and they accepted that challenge! One hundred and thirty-two children and teens registered for the six-week program which featured a variety of events including Story Times, Family Nights, a daily Lunch & Learn Program, book discussions, author visits and much more. In addition to fun events, participants kept track of the books they read to receive weekly incentives donated by local businesses. Yoga with Ceci
Are you looking for a gentle yet challenging addition to your health and fitness routine? Check out the Cumberland County Library’s free “Yoga With Ceci” program. Classes will be held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday (unless otherwise noted) from 10:30am-11:30am, at Cumberland County Library, 800 E. Commerce St, Bridgeton, NJ, 08302. The remaining yoga class dates for 2023 are as follows:September: 9/13, 9/27October: 10/11, 10/25November: 11/8, 11/15December: 12/13, 12/27 “Yoga With Ceci” is a soft and gentle practice with breath work and flow, appropriate for beginner and intermediate practitioners. One-hour sessions begin with centering, warm up and end with a 5-10 minute relaxation. (Savasana) Sanskrit vocabulary is used intermittently with English. The type of yoga practiced in this program is called Hatha. It is a gentle practice which utilizes props (including chairs, blocks and pillows) and our motto is “No new pain in yoga”. Each participant is encouraged to bring their own mat, although there will be some mats to borrow. Please note: registration is required to participate in “Yoga With Ceci”.
