Updated Library News Print

The Cumberland County Library will be closed, beginning Monday, March 23rd.  All programs are cancelled through March 28th. At the end of each week, the situation will be reassessed, and we will keep you informed of any changes.

During this time, we will be waiving fines for materials that are due tomorrow forward from March 17, 2020 and extending the number of renewals. Pre-existing fines will not be waived. The book-drop will be locked and we ask that you not attempt to return materials until we have reopened to the public. While materials can be renewed online, should you need assistance with renewing an item, we would be happy to assist you by e-mailing the library at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Staff will be able to take your emails between 9am and 5pm, through Friday.

During this time, we will be providing a variety of virtual reference services to assist the students and residents of Cumberland County. More information will be forthcoming, including information about our electronic resources. You will need a library card to access our electronic resources and those available through the State Library. However, if you do not have a library card, we are happy to assist you immediately. You can also e-mail the above address, and you will be set up with a temporary, limited access library card.

You may also contact reference librarians in the same manner and during the same hours at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
