The History of Cumberland County’s Maritime Industries
Cumberland County Library 800 E. Commerce St., BridgetonPresenter Taylor Carter will give a historical overview of several maritime industries that were significant in Cumberland County. Learn about the oyster industry and its move towards motorized dredging during the 19th and 20th centuries. Also, see artifacts from the John Dubois Maritime Museum that illustrate the whaling, ship building, caviar fishing and oystering from the area.
