Cumberland County Library will host a free historical program on Saturday, July 30 at 2 p.m. featuring American Historical Theatre’s Dr. Daisy Century as the famous 18th-century poet Phillis Wheatley, the first published African-American poet and the first African-American female published writer.

Funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey Historical Commission / Department of State, and the Cumberland County Board of County Commissioners through the Cumberland County Cultural and Heritage Commission.
